A friend of mine just got back from her summer vacation in Japan. She said when her friend gave her two sets of these “dashi” or Japanese style soup base, she thought of me. It was so kind of her to give us a set.

It’s a set of three dashi, two are fish based and the other is vegetable based.
だし３セット！家庭用の本格だし、料理長の自信作、というほどで、作り手の思いが伝わります。
There are individual bags inside, and it’s easy to use.
中はティーバッグみたいになっていて、使いやすいです。ティーバッグ風に使ってもいいし、ティーバッグを破って中身をそのまま入れても使えます。
I have a lot of ideas on how to use it, but they also came with a cookbook, so I’m pretty excited about learning what I can do wit them. I did make miso soup using one of the dashi, and it was fabulous!
いろいろな使い方はアイデアがあるのですが、料理本も一緒についてきたので、じっくり見てナニを作るか決めていきたいと思います。とりあえずお味噌汁を作ってみましたが、とっても美味しく出来上がりましたよ。
