Surprise Birthday Party

Terry’s mom, Terry, and I hosted a surprise birthday party for Terry’s sister, Nancy, at our house on Sunday. There were some moments when we were not sure if we could really pull it off (well, things happen even when you are very organized). So we were relieved to see her surprised when she saw her family and friends hiding in the kitchen. It was a fun time. I know it’s a little early but Happy Birthday again, Nancy!!

Terry’s mom did all the planning for the party and all the food preparation went very smoothly, thanks to her. Some of the things I prepared for the party were wonton crisps and chicken wings.

wonton crisps:
a) ham and cheese (ham, Parmesan cheese, mayo, green onion, salt, pepper, paprika)
b) corn and curry (corn, green onion, mayo, curry powder, salt, pepper, cheddar cheese)
c) pepperoni and sundried tomato (pepperoni, sundried tomato, mozzarella cheese)
d) cream cheese and hot pepper jelly (cream cheese, hot pepper jelly)

chicken wings: chicken wings, marinade(soy sauce, honey, molasses, ginger, garlic, onion slices, chili sauce, vinegar, sesame oil, salt)

義妹のサプライズ誕生日パーティー

数週間前から義母と予定していたのが、義妹のためのサプライズ誕生日パーティー。

我が家で行うことにしたものの、メニュー作成から招待客への呼びかけなどは義母と義妹のご主人が全てやってくれたので、テリーと私はささっと家の掃除をして家具を移動させたりして、あとはちょこちょこっと食べるものを少し作っただけ。

午後２時、ということもあって、食べ物は、食事ではなくってスナック中心に。
私が作ったのは、最近うちで凝っている、餃子の皮ぱりぱりスナック（また～？と言わないでね～（苦笑））とチキン手羽先オーブン焼き。
あとは全て義母が用意してくれた。

ぱりぱりスナックは、今回は、ハムチーズ、コーンカレー、ペパロニ、クリームチーズホットペッパージャムの４種類。
全部で９０個近く作ったのに、あっという間になくなるほど好評だった。

ハム・パルメザンチーズ：ハム、パルメザンチーズ、マヨ、小ねぎ、塩、こしょう、パプリカ
コーンカレー：コーン、マヨ、カレー粉、小ねぎ、塩、こしょう、チェダーチーズ
ペパロニ・サンドライトマト：ペパロニ、サンドライトマト、モッツレラチーズ
クリームチーズ・ホットペッパージャム：クリームチーズ、ホットペッパージャム（写真ナシ）
