Meatballs in Curry Yogurt Sauce

Terry and I watched an Indian movie last weekend. It was about a female DJ/medical student and a popular restaurant chef falling in love in Australia, then almost losing each other, and then finding each other again at the end. The story was somewhat predictable but interesting, some parts were very funny, and overall it was a fun movie with lots of dancing and singing (typical of many Indian movies). In the movie there is a part where the restaurant chef says his favorite food is Indian meatballs. As soon as I heard it, I started having craving for Indian flavored meatballs. Here is my next day creation in which meatballs were cooked in Indian-inspired sauce made from ingredients like curry, yogurt, garlic, and ginger. My secret in this sauce is a little addition of grated apple, which gives a natural fruity sweetness.
sauce: butter, garlic, ginger, onion, apple, curry paste, cumin, cinnamon, sugar, salt, pepper, water, chicken base, greek yogurt

ミートボールのカレーヨーグルトソース煮込み

先週末テリーと二人でインド映画を見た。
オーストラリアにて、インド出身で医学生兼ラジオDJの女性と人気インド料理レストランシェフが恋に落ちる、という話。
いわゆるラブストーリーなんだけれど、なかなかよく出来た映画で面白かった。
かなり笑える箇所がいくつかあったり、インド映画特有のダンスシーンも盛りだくさん。
映画の名前はもうすでに思い出せないのに（苦笑）、どうしても忘れられないシーンは、インド人シェフが、“僕の好物はIndian Meatballs (インドのミートボール)”、と言うところ。
それを見て以来どうしても“インドのミートボール”が食べたくってしょうがなく、次の日早速インド“風”なミートボールを作ってみた。
カレー、にんにく、しょうが、ヨーグルト、と入るからインド風だよね、と勝手に決めつけ（笑）。
今回のソースの秘密は、りんご。
少し入ることで、フルーティーな甘みが美味しい。
