Blueberry Marble Cheesecakes

I don’t have a strong opinion one way or the other about Martha Stewart. I’ve never really paid much attention to her or her recipes, probably because I don’t see her on TV (maybe we don’t have the cable channel she is on?). But when I saw her cupcake book, at Costco the other day, I really liked it. First, I liked the idea of making traditional cakes in a small (well, cupcake sized) version, like red velvet cupcakes and Boston cream pie cupcakes. It seemed like a lot of fun. Second, there were various decoration ideas, and the pictures were so beautiful. I went home and checked the book review (I can never buy anything impulsively…), and after satisfied with its very positive review, I went back to the store the very next day and purchased this book.
Here is something I made last weekend using this book: blueberry marble cheesecake. They were using raspberries in the book, but I substituted with blueberries. The final products were very pretty. They were also quite tasty. But next time I will add something tangy, probably lemon zest or/and lemon juice to the cream cheese filling or/and the blueberry sauce. I will also put some fresh berries on the crust before pouring the cream cheese filling. I really liked the size of the cake. It reduces the guilty-feeling that often comes with eating sweets, which, however, also makes it so easy to keep eating one after another…

マーサ・スチュワートというアメリカでは人気料理家の本より。
本の中では、ラズベリーを使っていたけれど、たまたま安売りだったブルーベリーが美味しそうだったので、ブルーベリーで代用。
湯せんをして焼くので、クリーミーな感じに仕上がるところがいい。
美味しかったけれど、改善点は少しあって。。。
次回はレモン汁やレモン皮なんかを入れて酸味を加えてみたいし、フレッシュなベリーを中に入れてみたいと思う。
小さいサイズで作ると、気軽に口に出来るのが良い。
で、調子に乗って、ついいくつも食べてしまうんだけどね。。。
テリーは、“これは３つ食べたって、普通のケーキの１切れ分にもならないから大丈夫”、と、本当かどうか？なことを言っていたし（苦笑）。
