McCormick & Schmick’s

Terry and I went to check out the new hotel, Westin, built right next to the Galleria shopping center, in Edina. There are condos in the hotel building, and it seems there are still many units left for sale. They now have three model houses open to the public as part of the Parade of Homes and Terry and I went to see them yesterday. They all looked great. I really liked their large windows and open living/dining/kitchen space. All the rooms were decorated nicely, but their kitchens and bathrooms were done a little too modern for me (I used to like the modern design, but I’ve become more fond of classic/traditional look over the last few years. Some say I’m getting old…).
Terry and I decided to have lunch at McCormick & Schmick’s, a seafood restaurant, located in the hotel. We had a crab cake, fish tacos, paella, and then raspberry cream in a chocolate cup for dessert. Everything was so good, and they were surprisingly quite reasonable. All the dishes we had were under $10 each, and the dessert was under $2! I will definitely go back.

一億円マンションとランチ

市内でもちょっとおしゃれな地域に最近できたホテル。
ホテルの建物の中にいくつかマンションが作られ、現在売られているらしい。
たまたまモデルルームとして３ユニット一般公開されていたので、テリーと二人で見にいった（家探しをしているわけではないんだけれどね）。
公開されていたマンションは２～３ベッドルームに、２～３バスルーム、それに、キッチン・ダイニング・リビング。
品良く家具や小物なんかが選ばれていて、良い雰囲気。
ただ、郊外の家に比べるとかなり小さめなんだけれど、どれも約一億円の値段付き。
徒歩距離内には、コーヒーショップ、本屋、映画館、レストラン多数に、ショッピングモールなどがあって、便利なんだけれど、値段のうち大半はロケーションにお金を払うようなもの。
どんな地域に住むか、とか、そのロケーションに幾ら払うか、っていうのは、個人個人のライフスタイルによる、ってことだよね（職場ロケーションなんかも含めて）。
私は以前は都会のマンション暮らしに憧れたものだけれど、最近はすっかり郊外暮らしにはまってしまっている。
芝生を刈ったばかりの匂いとか、裏庭に時々姿を見せる鹿の親子とか、木の葉のさわさわという音で朝目覚める瞬間とか、手放せなくなってしまったものもいくつかあるし。。。
そうそう、ランチの話（笑）。
一億円のマンションを見た後、ホテル内に入っていたシーフードレストランでランチ。
クラブケーキ（カニハンバーグみたいなの）、フィッシュタコス、パエリアを二人でシェアして、デザートには、ラズベリークリームの入ったチョコレートカップ（写真ナシ）。
どしっと格調高そうなとっても雰囲気の良いレストランなのに、値段はとっても良心的。
今回頼んだ料理はどれも１０ドル以下。
デザートはなんと２ドル以下（写真撮り忘れた～！）。
