for apple\/cranberry, and &#8220;AW&#8221; for apple\/raisin\/walnuts.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-45406 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.culinarytribune.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/52-3.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"510\" height=\"717\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.culinarytribune.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/52-3.jpg 547w, https:\/\/www.culinarytribune.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/52-3-321x450.jpg 321w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 510px) 100vw, 510px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>They turned out great!!<\/p>\n<p>This time I used corn meal as well as corn flour, which created a little more interesting texture.<\/p>\n<p>I like this one a bit better, but Terry said he liked the previous one (corn flour only) better because they were a bit more moist inside.<\/p>\n<p>So I guess it&#8217;s a personal preference.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-45407 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.culinarytribune.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/43-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"510\" height=\"717\" \/><\/p>\n<p>These are just wonderful for any time of the day.<\/p>\n<p>They freeze well, and I make extra and keep them in the freezer; type food, like cakes, pies, and cookies.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-45412 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.culinarytribune.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/55.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"510\" height=\"717\" \/><\/p>\n<div id=\"recipe\">\n<p><strong>Stuffed Corn Cakes: Mushroom and Apple<\/strong> &#8211; makes about 5 each<\/p>\n<p>filling<br \/>\n-mushroom version (chopped garlic and mushrooms were sauteed in olive oil. Chopped parsley was added at the end. Salt and pepper)<br \/>\n-apple version (A: apples (chopped and cooked with a little sugar), dry cranberries, cinnamon; AW: apples (chopped and cooked with a little sugar), golden raisins, walnuts, cinnamon)<br \/>\ncake<br \/>\n&#8211; 2 cups Maseca corn flour<br \/>\n&#8211; 2 cups corn meal<br \/>\n&#8211; salt<br \/>\n&#8211; water<br \/>\ncanola oil for flying<\/p>\n<p>1. Prepare filling.<br \/>\n2. Make corn cakes. Preheat oven to 400F. Combine corn flour, corn meal, and salt. Add water slowly while mixing well, until the dough achieves your preferred consistency.<br \/>\n4. Divide the dough into 200. Make balls and then flatten them to make a disk. On 10 disks place the filling, and then cover them with another disk.<br \/>\n5. Fry both sides in a pan until golden brown.<br \/>\n6.
