{"id":44479,"date":"2017-07-24T23:03:37","date_gmt":"2017-07-25T03:03:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.culinarytribune.com\/?p=44479"},"modified":"2017-07-27T22:37:55","modified_gmt":"2017-07-28T02:37:55","slug":"veggie-shoyu-ramen%e3%81%b9%e3%82%b8%e9%86%a4%e6%b2%b9%e3%83%a9%e3%83%bc%e3%83%a1%e3%83%b3","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.culinarytribune.com\/?p=44479&lang=en","title":{"rendered":"Veggie Shoyu Ramen<br>\u3079\u30b8\u91a4\u6cb9\u30e9\u30fc\u30e1\u30f3"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-44480 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.culinarytribune.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/23-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"510\" height=\"717\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.culinarytribune.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/23-2.jpg 547w, https:\/\/www.culinarytribune.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/23-2-321x450.jpg 321w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 510px) 100vw, 510px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I know that a lot of people do not like change in their plan.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m usually a pretty relaxed person (I think) but when it comes to food, I have a very hard time with change in a plan.<\/p>\n<p>When we have a plan to go to a specific restaurant, I study their menu thoroughly in advance.<\/p>\n<p>Terry laughs when he sees me so focused on a restaurant&#8217;s website and carefully plan my meal (lol).<\/p>\n<p>But now I&#8217;m eating 100% plant-based, I feel that I have to be well prepared for my next meal (or next several meals) more than ever.<\/p>\n<p>Last weekend we were talking about checking out a new ramen restaurant which offers vegan ramen, and I was so excited about it.<\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately our plan had to be changed because we had this awesome Blues Festival happening in our neighborhood, and we didn&#8217;t want to leave for too long and miss the music.<\/p>\n<p>So I decided to prepare a quick meal for dinner myself.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-44481 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.culinarytribune.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/30-4.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"510\" height=\"717\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-44482 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.culinarytribune.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/31-4.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"510\" height=\"717\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.culinarytribune.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/31-4.jpg 547w, https:\/\/www.culinarytribune.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/31-4-321x450.jpg 321w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 510px) 100vw, 510px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>As you can see, I still had craving for ramen, and that&#8217;s what I made.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-44483 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.culinarytribune.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/28-5.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"510\" height=\"717\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Although I was a bit disappointed because I didn&#8217;t get to try the new restaurant, I loved my ramen!<\/p>\n<p>One of the great things about making your own food is that you can make it exactly the way you want it.<\/p>\n<p>I know I&#8217;m stating the obvious but I often forget this and eating-out sometimes seems like a much better idea than it actually is.<\/p>\n<p>I should really have to remind myself that home-cooked meal is awesome (lol)!<\/p>\n<div id=\"recipe\"><strong>Veggie Shoyu Ramen<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>soup<br \/>\n&#8211; canola oil<br \/>\n&#8211; 2 cloves garlic, cut in half<br \/>\n&#8211; 1 small onion, sliced<br \/>\n&#8211; salt and pepper<br \/>\n&#8211; 1 tablespoon Japanese salted Kombu seaweed (shio-kombu)<br \/>\n&#8211; 2 cups water<br \/>\n&#8211; sugar<br \/>\n&#8211; soy sauce<br \/>\n100g cooked noodle<br \/>\nvegetables; I used cooked broccoli, lightly cooked carrots, corn, scallion<br \/>\ndried Nori seaweed sheet<\/p>\n<p>1. Sautee garlic and onion in oil until browned. Salt and pepper.<br \/>\n2. Add salted Shio kombu.<br \/>\n3. Add water. Boil and then turn down to low heat.<br \/>\n4. Add sugar, soy sauce, one teaspoon at a time, until it achieves your preferred taste. Add more salt if needed.<br \/>\n5. Strain the broth.
