{"id":42670,"date":"2017-01-26T21:20:44","date_gmt":"2017-01-27T02:20:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.culinarytribune.com\/?p=42670"},"modified":"2017-01-26T21:20:44","modified_gmt":"2017-01-27T02:20:44","slug":"curry-udon%e3%82%ab%e3%83%ac%e3%83%bc%e3%83%ab%e3%83%bc%e3%82%92%e4%bd%bf%e3%82%8f%e3%81%aa%e3%81%84%e3%82%ab%e3%83%ac%e3%83%bc%e3%81%86%e3%81%a9%e3%82%93","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.culinarytribune.com\/?p=42670&lang=en","title":{"rendered":"Curry Udon<br>\u30ab\u30ec\u30fc\u30eb\u30fc\u3092\u4f7f\u308f\u306a\u3044\u30ab\u30ec\u30fc\u3046\u3069\u3093"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-42671 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.culinarytribune.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/09-1.jpg\" alt=\"09\" width=\"510\" height=\"717\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Curry Udon is one of the popular comfort foods in Japan.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s super easy to make because many people use pre-made\/store-bought curry roux.<\/p>\n<p>I used to be one of them, but when I checked their long list of ingredients, I was not very excited.<\/p>\n<p>And when I saw an unattractive blob that jiggled like gelatin sitting at the bottom of a pot the next morning, I told myself &#8220;that&#8217;s it!&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-42672 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.culinarytribune.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/08.jpg\" alt=\"08\" width=\"510\" height=\"717\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.culinarytribune.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/08.jpg 546w, https:\/\/www.culinarytribune.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/08-320x450.jpg 320w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 510px) 100vw, 510px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>So I made this Japanese-style curry from scratch.<\/p>\n<p>It turned out great.<\/p>\n<p>So great that I almost got confused.<\/p>\n<p>Why didn&#8217;t I make it from scratch if you can make it this tasty and easy, and without ingredients unwanted!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Curry Udon<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>1~2 tablespoons flour<br \/>\n1~1.5 tablespoons canola oil<br \/>\n3~4 cups water<br \/>\n1 5&#215;5 inch dried Kombu sheet<br \/>\n1~2 tablespoons cane sugar<br \/>\n1~2 tablespoons soy sauce<br \/>\ncurry powder<br \/>\nJapanese worcestershire sauce<br \/>\nsalt and pepper<br \/>\n100g Udon noodles, cooked<br \/>\nA-Ge (Japanese fried soy curd, sliced)<br \/>\nchopped scallion<\/p>\n<p>1. Combine flour and oil in a pot. Over low-medium heat cook while constantly stir to make roux until dark browned.<br \/>\n2. Add water and Kombu sheet. Boil and then turn down to low heat.<br \/>\n3. Add sugar, soy sauce, curry powder, Japanese worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.<br \/>\n4.
