it was already 11:30 am when we called.<\/p>\n<p>So this, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.frenchhencafe.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">The French Hen Cafe<\/a>, was our third choice, and I almost glad that the first two did not work out (well, I&#8217;ve never been to the other two places, so I&#8217;m sure we will check them out some other time).<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-42460 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.culinarytribune.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/17-5.jpg\" alt=\"17\" width=\"568\" height=\"428\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-42461 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.culinarytribune.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/20-1.jpg\" alt=\"20\" width=\"510\" height=\"717\" \/><\/p>\n<p>It looks so cute from the outside.<\/p>\n<p>They do a great job with the flower boxes.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-42462 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.culinarytribune.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/21.jpg\" alt=\"21\" width=\"568\" height=\"428\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Well, here is probably why.<\/p>\n<p>There is a flower shop right next to the cafe, in the same building, and you go through the flower shop to get to the cafe.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-42463 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.culinarytribune.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/11-1.jpg\" alt=\"11\" width=\"510\" height=\"717\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-42464 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.culinarytribune.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/12-4.jpg\" alt=\"12\" width=\"568\" height=\"428\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The inside of the cafe is cozy and comfortable.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-42465 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.culinarytribune.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/10-3.jpg\" alt=\"10\" width=\"510\" height=\"717\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-42466 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.culinarytribune.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/08.jpg\" alt=\"08\" width=\"510\" height=\"717\" \/><\/p>\n<p>And they have the three things I would make sure to have if I ever had my own restaurant: fresh flowers on tables, linen napkins, and a jag of water for each table.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-42467 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.culinarytribune.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/13-2.jpg\" alt=\"13\" width=\"510\" height=\"717\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.culinarytribune.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/13-2.jpg 547w, https:\/\/www.culinarytribune.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/13-2-321x450.jpg 321w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 510px) 100vw, 510px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>My coffee, with Terry as a hand model.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-42468 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.culinarytribune.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/23.jpg\" alt=\"23\" width=\"510\" height=\"717\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The breakfast menu is not huge but interesting.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-42469 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.culinarytribune.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/28.jpg\" alt=\"28\" width=\"568\" height=\"428\" \/><\/p>\n<p>This was Terry&#8217;s Bahn Mi Benedict.<\/p>\n<p>Delicious and beautifully presented.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-42470 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.culinarytribune.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/15-4.jpg\" alt=\"15\" width=\"568\" height=\"428\" \/><\/p>\n<p>My Creole Market Hash.<\/p>\n<p>Absolutely DELICIOUS!<\/p>\n<p>Everything was perfectly cooked, and the plate was full of vegetables.<\/p>\n<p>I liked that they have Brioche as a choice of toast, too.<\/p>\n<p>Later our server brought their homemade raspberry jam, which was very good, too.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-42471 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.culinarytribune.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/19-2.jpg\" alt=\"19\" width=\"568\" height=\"428\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m typically reluctant to go to a restaurant for breakfast, because I often feel like I could make the same thing at home (and maybe better).<\/p>\n<p>So the brunch at this cafe was such a nice treat, because the menu was a bit unique and everything was just perfect, flavors, execution, atmosphere, and service.<\/p>\n<p>I will definitely go back, hopefully soon!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We were initially planning to try a restaurant called (The Neighborhood Cafe) for our Christmas Eve brunch.
