{"id":41701,"date":"2016-09-05T12:57:42","date_gmt":"2016-09-05T16:57:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.culinarytribune.com\/?p=41701"},"modified":"2016-09-05T12:57:42","modified_gmt":"2016-09-05T16:57:42","slug":"japanese-fishermans-stew%e6%bc%81%e5%b8%ab%e3%81%95%e3%82%93%e3%81%ae%e3%81%8a%e5%91%b3%e5%99%8c%e6%b1%81","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.culinarytribune.com\/?p=41701&lang=en","title":{"rendered":"Japanese Fisherman&#8217;s Stew<br>\u6f01\u5e2b\u3055\u3093\u306e\u304a\u5473\u564c\u6c41"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-41702 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.culinarytribune.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/19-1.jpg\" alt=\"19\" width=\"510\" height=\"717\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I was in the mood for seafood stew.<\/p>\n<p>There was an Italian restaurant near our old house and they had great cioppino.<\/p>\n<p>I thought about driving up there, but at the last minute, I decided to make stew myself and make it in the Japanese style.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-41703 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.culinarytribune.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/17-2.jpg\" alt=\"17\" width=\"596\" height=\"428\" \/><\/p>\n<p>A generous amount of cod, shrimp, and green mussels were added to miso flavored soup.<\/p>\n<p>This is the best thing about home cooking.<\/p>\n<p>You can put as much as what you like in your soup when you make it yourself.<\/p>\n<p>I added a large fillet of cod; Cod is probably one of my favorite fishes now.<\/p>\n<p>Stew is hard to mess up.<\/p>\n<p>My only advice would be &#8220;Do not overcook the seafood&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-41704 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.culinarytribune.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/20-1.jpg\" alt=\"20\" width=\"510\" height=\"717\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Absolutely delicious!<\/p>\n<p>The flavors from the seafood go so well with white miso.<\/p>\n<p>I don&#8217;t really need anything else except for a big bowl of white rice.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-41705 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.culinarytribune.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/21.jpg\" alt=\"21\" width=\"510\" height=\"717\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Japanese Fiherman&#8217;s Stew<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>4~5 cups water<br \/>\n1\/3~1\/2 cup Japanese salted Kombu (shio-kombu)<br \/>\n1~2 tablespoons sugar<br \/>\n1~2 soy sauce<br \/>\nsalt<br \/>\n1\/2 lb cod<br \/>\n10~12 shrimp<br \/>\n8~10 mussels<br \/>\n1\/3 cup white miso<br \/>\nchopped chive (or scallion)<\/p>\n<p>1. Add salted kombu to water in a pot. Boil.<br \/>\n2. Add sugar, soy sauce, salt, cod, shrimp, and mussels. Boil again and then turn down to low heat.<br \/>\n3. When the seafood is cooked, remove from heat. Add miso.<br \/>\n4.
