This is a historical mansion renovated and opened a few years ago to the public as a restaurant that specializes in brunch and afternoon tea.<\/p>\n

The building is sitting on a large property overlooking the Mississippi river.<\/p>\n

We used to live close by and whenever I passed by this house I felt somewhat sad seeing the house being empty and looking abandoned.<\/p>\n

I was hoping that someone would make this place a restaurant or a tea room, and they just did exactly what I hoped for!<\/p>\n

The inside of the house is tastefully decorated.<\/p>\n

I wouldn’t choose to decorate our house this way, but I certainly appreciate the style.<\/p>\n

I was focused on the building architecture and experience, and to tell the truth I wasn’t expecting much from food.<\/p>\n

Well, it was a nice surprise.<\/p>\n

The menu was interesting, and the food was very good!<\/p>\n

My mother-in-law had french toast with berries.<\/p>\n

Terry had a puff pastry with crab cake, a poached egg, and salad (with lavender dressing!).<\/p>\n

I had a puff pastry with sauteed wild mushrooms, scrambled eggs, and grilled asparagus.<\/p>\n

They were all well prepared and delicious!<\/p>\n

Love having tea with my hubby!<\/p>\n

After brunch, we went upstairs to check out their gift shop.<\/p>\n

The restaurant is apparently featured in a book as one of the best afternoon tea restaurants.<\/p>\n

I even got to wear my “brunch with mother-in-law” dress today (lol).<\/p>\n

Next time I would love to make a reservation for a tea party!<\/p>\n
