{"id":37220,"date":"2015-10-08T19:03:28","date_gmt":"2015-10-08T23:03:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.culinarytribune.com\/?p=37220"},"modified":"2015-10-09T19:50:33","modified_gmt":"2015-10-09T23:50:33","slug":"just-like-meat-bibimbap%e3%81%be%e3%82%8b%e3%81%a3%e3%81%8d%e3%82%8a%e3%81%8a%e8%82%89%e3%83%93%e3%83%93%e3%83%b3%e3%83%90","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.culinarytribune.com\/?p=37220&lang=en","title":{"rendered":"\u201cJust Like Meat\u201d Bibimbap<br>\u307e\u308b\u3063\u304d\u308a\u304a\u8089\u30d3\u30d3\u30f3\u30d0"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.culinarytribune.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/85.jpg\" rel=\"lightbox[37220]\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-37221 aligncenter\" alt=\"85\" src=\"https:\/\/www.culinarytribune.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/85.jpg\" width=\"506\" height=\"717\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8220;Just like Meat&#8221; Bibimbap<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I talked about this wonderful Japanese product, &#8220;Marukkiri Onioku&#8221; or &#8220;Just like Meat&#8221; before (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.culinarytribune.com\/?p=35748\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.culinarytribune.com\/?p=36877\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>This is made of brown rice and soy beans.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s (I believe) freeze dried, so you cook it in boiled water for a few minutes and it&#8217;s ready to use as meat.<\/p>\n<p>You can certainly taste some brown rice (and I actually don&#8217;t dislike it), but the texture and the look are very similar to real meat especially when sauteed and lightly browned.<\/p>\n<p>This vegan bibimbap was made with this &#8220;just like meat&#8221; cooked with garlic teriyaki sauce, and vegetable namul served on brown rice with gochujang paste.<\/p>\n<p>You can certain add a fried egg as often seen in many bibimbap bowls, but it&#8217;s perfectly satisfying to me just as it is.<\/p>\n<div id=\"recipe\"><strong>&#8220;Just like Meat&#8221; Bibimbap<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>garlic teriyaki &#8220;meat&#8221;<br \/>\n&#8211; canola oil<br \/>\n&#8211; 1 to 2 cloves garlic, chopped<br \/>\n&#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.maisen.co.jp\/en\/products\/just-like-meat\/just-like-meat-marukkiri-oniku.html\" target=\"_blank\">&#8220;Marukkiri Oniku&#8221; (or &#8220;just like meat&#8221;)<\/a>, cooked in boiled water for 2 to 3 minutes<br \/>\n&#8211; salt and pepper<br \/>\n&#8211; 1\/2 cup cane sugar<br \/>\n&#8211; 1\/2 cup soy sauce<br \/>\nvegetable namul<br \/>\n&#8211; 1\/2 cup carrot, julienned<br \/>\n&#8211; 1\/2 cup sprouts<br \/>\n&#8211; sesame oil<br \/>\n&#8211; salt<br \/>\n1 cup cooked brown rice<br \/>\n1\/2 cup cucumbers, julienned<br \/>\n1\/2 cup spinach, chopped<br \/>\ngochujang<\/p>\n<p>1. Make garlic teriyaki &#8220;meat&#8221;. Cook garlic in oil. Add the &#8220;Marukkiri Oniku&#8221; and continue to sautee.<br \/>\n2. Make sauce. In a separate pan combine sugar and soy sauce. Cook until thickened. Pour the sauce over the meat.<br \/>\n3. Make vegetable namul. Cook carrot and sprouts in boiled water. It takes a few minutes to cook carrots, but cook sprouts for only a few seconds. Remove from water and plunge them into ice water. Lightly splash sesame oil and sprinkle salt.<br \/>\n4. On brown rice, place the cooked &#8220;meat&#8221;, vegetable namul, cucumbers, and spinach.
