Birch Dressing<\/strong><\/p>\n

I talked about the maple syrup<\/a> made by Terry’s cousin, Brandon.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

When we went to pick up the maple syrup, Brandon told us about other types of syrup he makes.<\/p>\n

Birch syrup was one of them.<\/p>\n

I had no idea you can make syrup from birch trees!!<\/p>\n

He does not make a lot of it, but he sent us home with some he had made a few years ago.<\/p>\n

It’s hard to describe the flavor, but I would say it’s a bit sharper than maple syrup.<\/p>\n

The first idea that came to me was using this to make dressing.<\/p>\n

Well, this was one of the most unique and tasty salad dressings I’ve ever made!<\/p>\n

We enjoyed it on salad for lunch last weekend.<\/p>\n

I think it’s so cool to get to enjoy \u00a0“birch” dressing made with birch syrup locally handmade by a family member!<\/p>\n

Birch Dressing<\/strong><\/p>\n

1\/2 cup birch syrup
\n1\/3~1\/2 cup white vinegar
\n1\/4 cup canola oil
\n1~2 tablespoons sugar
\n1~2 teaspoon whole grain Dijon mustard
\nsalt and pepper<\/p>\n

1. Combine all the ingredients using a hand blender until it becomes thick.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
