{"id":35085,"date":"2015-03-08T17:30:52","date_gmt":"2015-03-08T21:30:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.culinarytribune.com\/?p=35085"},"modified":"2015-03-15T15:27:07","modified_gmt":"2015-03-15T19:27:07","slug":"nagaimo-potato-steak-rice-bowl%e9%95%b7%e8%8a%8b%e3%82%b9%e3%83%86%e3%83%bc%e3%82%ad%e4%b8%bc","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.culinarytribune.com\/?p=35085&lang=en","title":{"rendered":"Nagaimo Potato Steak Rice Bowl<br>\u9577\u828b\u30b9\u30c6\u30fc\u30ad\u4e3c"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.culinarytribune.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/163.jpg\" rel=\"lightbox[35085]\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-35087 aligncenter\" alt=\"163\" src=\"https:\/\/www.culinarytribune.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/163.jpg\" width=\"506\" height=\"717\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Nagaimo Potato Steak Rice Bowl<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Today you can find almost any Japanese food ingredients in the U.S.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>But I was still surprised when I found this nagaimo potato at the local Asian grocery store.<\/p>\n<p>Nagaimo is very versatile and can be eaten raw in salad, grated, or cooked.<\/p>\n<p>In this rice bowl I simply sauteed sliced nagaimo and served over rice and teriyaki sauce.<\/p>\n<p>The most unique thing about nagaimo is probably its texture.<\/p>\n<p>Terry described it as &#8220;apple&#8221;-like when he had this nagaimo steak.<\/p>\n<div id=\"recipe\">\n<strong>Nagaimo Potato Steak Rice Bowl<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>3~4 1\/2 inch thick slices nagaimo<br \/>\ncanola oil<br \/>\nsalt and pepper<br \/>\nsauteed buna mushrooms<br \/>\ndaikon sprouts<br \/>\n1 cup cooked brown rice<br \/>\nteriyaki sauce<br \/>\n &#8211; 1 tablespoon sugar<br \/>\n &#8211; 1 tablespoon soy sauce<br \/>\ndried seaweed (aonori)<\/p>\n<p>1. Make nagaimo steak. Sautee nagaimo slices with oil for a few minutes each side. Salt and pepper.<br \/>\n2. Make teriyaki sauce. Cook sugar and soy sauce in a pan until it becomes thick.<br \/>\n3. Place nagaimo steak, mushrooms, and sprouts over cooked rice. Serve with teriyaki sauce and dried aonori seaweed.
