Truffles and Tortes Dessert Bar<\/strong>

The city of Anoka has a rather old-fashioned main street where many locally owned small stores and cafes are located. Terry and I recently found this new place on the street, Truffles and Tortes Dessert Bar<\/a>, and yesterday we had a chance to visit. Their cakes and truffles all looked wonderful, and it was very hard to choose just a few. We finally decided to try their two award-winning desserts, Concerto and Chocolate Nirvana. I had Chocolate Nirvana. This cake is described as “velvety smooth chocolate mousse with a hidden dome of creme brulee rests on a a bottom of milk chocolate hazelnut praline”. Who wouldn’t want it?! It was rich but light, and I really enjoyed many layers of flavor and texture in this cake. I will definitely buy this again. Terry also liked his cake, Concerto, which is “a dome of milk chocolate caramel mousse, caramel cream and caramel sauce with a hint of fleur de sel, covered in a dark chocolate glaze”. <\/p>\n
