<\/a><\/p>\nRustic Cake<\/strong><\/p>\n I was not planning to make any big Christmas dessert this year.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n But then after lunch I suddenly decided that I wanted a cake to celebrate Christmas.<\/p>\n My mom used to make a killer Buche de Noel every year.<\/p>\n I thought about making one myself, but it seemed a bit too challenging for me especially I was looking for something quick and easy today.<\/p>\n So, I decided to make this rustic cake.<\/p>\n You make cake batter and you just place it on a baking sheet. No baking pan needed.<\/p>\n It turns out so beautiful. I absolutely love this rustic look. The top is slightly crusty and the inside is very light.<\/p>\n Don’t bother to use a knife. Use your hands and tear off a piece. Serve with whipped cream and jam.<\/p>\n Simple, basic, yet elegant and delicious.<\/p>\n Merry Christmas, again, everyone!!<\/p>\n for serving 1. \n200 ml all purpose flour, sifted
\n13g butter, melted
\npowdered sugar<\/p>\n
\nwhipped cream
\njam<\/p>\n
\n2. Combine one third of sugar and egg yolks. Mix well until it turns light yellow.
\n3. Add salt to egg whites in a different bowl. Whip. Add the rest of the sugar and continue to whip until stiff.
\n4. Add one third of 3 to 2. Mix well. Add flour and the rest of the egg whites. Add butter. Mix.
\n5. Place 4 on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Sprinkle powdered sugar. Bake for 20~25 minutes or until baked through.
