This is a good way to start the week, if you ask me.<\/p>\n<p>I microwave tofu first (to get extra moisture out of tofu), flour and fry it before coating with sweet miso sauce. This process takes extra 8 minutes, but it gives the tofu nice crunchiness and lets it be coated with the sauce nicely.<\/p>\n<div style=\"background-color:#F7F7F7;padding:12px;\">\n<strong>Miso Sesame Tofu Kimchi Rice Bowl (one serving)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>1\/4 ~ 1\/3 package extra firm tofu (sliced into four sticks)<br \/>\n1\/4 cup flour<br \/>\ncanola oil (for frying)<br \/>\nmiso sauce<br \/>\n  &#8211; 1 teaspoon dark miso<br \/>\n  &#8211; 2 tablespoons sherry<br \/>\n  &#8211; 1 tablespoon sugar<br \/>\n  &#8211; 1 tablespoon soy sauce<br \/>\ncorn starch + water (for thickening)<br \/>\nblack sesame (for sprinkling)<br \/>\nkimchi<br \/>\ncucumber cut into julienne strips and salted<br \/>\ncooked white rice<br \/>\nscallion chopped<\/p>\n<p>1. Microwave tofu.<br \/>\n2. Flour and fry in canola oil<br \/>\n3. Combine all the miso sauce ingredients in a pan, cook over high heat and then reduce the heat to medium.<br \/>\n4. Thicken the sauce with corn starch\/water mixture.<br \/>\n5. Add the fried tofu to the pan and coat it with sauce.<br \/>\n6. Sprinkle sesame seeds.<br \/>\n7. Serve the tofu sticks, kimchi, and salted cucumber over cooked rice.<br \/>\n8. Sprinkle chopped scallion.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Plant based?: 98% yes. 2%: fish sauce in kimchi.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>*My recipes are introduced at a Japanese website.
