Carlos’ San Antonio Pizza<\/strong>
\nLunch January 4, 2009<\/em><\/p>\n

Terry and I hardly ever go out just for a drink. But the other night we were both in the mood for a drink, and went to the bar in a local Italian restaurant. There we met Carlos, the restaurant manager. Carlos told us about this pizza that he used to enjoy when he lived in San Antonio, Texas. I don’t remember exactly how to make it, but I did remember and like the part where avocado and cilantro are sprinkled on top and lime juice is squeezed right before serving. That sounded so tasty. Inspired by this idea, I made my own version. In my version, tomato sauce made with chorizo was first put on pizza dough, and then mozzarella cheese, green pepper, and onion were used as toppings. Once the pizza was baked and out of the oven, I added fresh avocado, cilantro, and green onion, and squeezed lime juice. It was different, but very refreshing and tasty.<\/p>\n
