Grilled Summer Squash Rolls

We spent the afternoon with the family at my mother-in-law’s cabin on a lake today.

Like many people celebrating the fourth of July we grilled burgers for lunch.
What do you do when you’re a vegan or a vegetarian and invited to BBQ?
I don’t call myself a vegan or a vegetarian, but I don’t eat a lot of meat and a cheeseburger doesn’t exactly fit in my diet.
So I volunteer to bring veggie dishes.
This time I prepared a toss salad (with lots of veggies) and corn/black bean salad.

My sister-in-law suggested visiting a local zoo, Como Zoo, for a Mother’s Day event on Saturday. I’ve heard that they have a Japanese garden, but this was my first time to see it.

Yesterday Terry and I had a chance to visit Brandon, Terry’s cousin. Although he was busy, he kindly gave us a grand tour of his maple syrup production in his backyard!
昨日テリーのいとこ、ブランドンを久しぶりに訪問。
Initially we were talking about going out to eat this year. But then my brother-in-law and his wife kindly invited us and others to their house for a late lunch/early dinner.
今日はアメリカは感謝祭という祝日でした。アメリカではクリスマスの次に大きい祝日ですね～。家族親戚で集まって一緒にごはんを食べてお祝いをします。
