Vieux Carre
We were not planning to go there, but on our way back from a long walk, we saw their sign saying that our favorite duo, Nikki Roux and Rich Rue was playing.
The timing was perfect, because it was 5 minutes to 6, when they start playing.
I like their choice of songs, and I love Nikki’s voice. It’s hard to describe. I usually don’t care much for a very feminine voice. Nikki’s voice is definitely feminine, but she sounds so genuine.
If you ever have a chance to visit Vieux Carre, you should plan to have dinner there as well.
Their menu is strongly New Orleans influenced, and there are a lot of interesting things on the menu that are hard to find in the Twin Cities.
This time we were not planning to stop by, so unfortunately we were not hungry enough to have dinner. But we had a few snacks. Terry had a glass of beer. I had a couple of fresh oysters. And we shared a peach cake (no picture. I still struggle to take good pictures in a dark place like this…). Everything was good.
Next time, though, I’ll make sure we are hungry so I can try their lobster po’ boy.
I’m on Instagram.
