Pot Stickers
Pot Stickers are one of my childhood favorites.
Whenever my mother asked me what I wanted for dinner, 9 out of 10 times I would say “Pot stickers!”
I loved to eat pot stickers for sure, but I also enjoyed very much helping my mother make them.
We would sit side by side at the kitchen table, and we would make hundreds of them together.
Now I make my pot stickers by myself. I feel a bit lonely, but it’s not too bad. It’s actually one of my zen moments (lol).
A mixture of cabbage and ground meat is the traditional filling, but this time I used napa cabbage in place of regular cabbage.
Cabbage and napa cabbage both work just fine if you ask me, but using napa cabbage is easier because you don’t have to cook it first.
Pot Stickers
filling
– 1/2 lb ground beef
– 1/2 lb ground pork
– 2 cups chopped napa cabbage
– 1/4 cup chopped green onion
– 2 cloves garlic, chopped
– 1/2 teaspoon chopped ginger
– 1~2 teaspoons soy sauce
– 1/2 teaspoon sesame oil
– salt and pepper
1 package pot sticker wrappers
canola oil
sauce
– 1 tablespoon soy sauce
– 1 tablespoon white vinegar
1. Make filling. Combine all the ingredients.
2. Wrap filling in wrappers.
3. Heat oil in a large pan. Place dumplings in the pan. Cook for a few minutes until the bottoms are browned. Add about 1/2 cup of water. Cover and cook over medium heat for a few minutes until the water is almost gone.

These are absolutely lovely! Growing up, I always heard that you can tell how beautiful your children will be by well your wrap your pot stickers – I hope I’m not being too presumptuous, but you must have/will have GORGEOUS children!
Anyway, the recipe looks divine! Pot stickers are one of my favorites too! I’m looking forward to making these!

Kathleen,
Thank you for your wonderful comment! I don’t have kids, but if I did, this is definitely one of the things I would love to teach them how to make.
