Sriracha Teriyaki Wings
This Sriracha Chicken Wings were part of the menu of our open house party we had last Sunday.
I made this plate a week before to practice before the party.
Well, practice is important.
I learned from this experience that I wanted to marinade chicken longer than a few hours (that was what I was originally thinking) and I shouldn’t forget to sprinkle sesame seeds before serving; I forgot to do so for this photo shoot as you can see.
My chicken wings turned out great for the party, but next time I will cook them the day before and warm them up the day of the party so that I won’t have to be rushed and sweaty at the last minute!
The base sauce is rather sweet but Sriracha gives a nice kick!
3lbs party wings and drummies
marinade
– 1/2 cup soy sauce
– 1~2 tablespoon sugar
– 1 tablespoon white vinegar
– 2 cloves garlic, cut in half
– 1/4 cup scallion, cut into 2 inches long
– 1 teaspoon garlic chili paste
– 1 tablespoon canola oil
– salt and pepper
Sriracha teriyaki sauce
– 1/4 cup soy sauce
– 1/8~ 1/6 cup sugar
– 1/2 teaspoon Sriracha sauce
– 1/2 tablespoon white vinegar
– 1 tablespoon honey
1/4 cup scallion, chopped
1/4 cup cilantro, chopped
1 tablespoon roasted sesame seeds (optional)
1. Make marinade. Combine all the ingredients. Put the marinade and chicken in a plastic bag. Zip it. Marinate overnight.
2. Preheat oven to 400F. Discard the marinade. Pat the chicken with paper towel to remove excess liquid.
3. Cook chicken in the oven for 20 minutes. Turn chicken over. Cook for another 20 minutes.
4. Cook for another few minutes with broiler until chicken turns brown.
5. Serve with scallion, cilantro, and sesame seeds (optional).
