Pretzel Bread Cinnamon Cocoa French Toast
I love pretzel bread.
It’s funny, because pretzel has never been my favorite snack, and I hardly ever buy it myself.
But pretzel bread intrigues me, probably because it’s so different from other kinds of bread.
Its dark color, the texture, and the subtle sweetness are so unique.
When we got one from the local farmers’ market, we first enjoyed slices simply with butter.
And then the next day I decided to use the last few slices and make french toast.
An addition of cinnamon and cocoa to the french toast batter really went well with the pretzel bread, and this made an awesome breakfast!
french toast batter
– 2 tablespoons flour
– 1 large egg or 2 small eggs
– 1/2 cup almond milk
– 1 tablespoon sugar
– a pinch of salt
– 1 teaspoon cinnamon
– 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
– 1/2 teaspoon cocoa
butter
maple syrup
1. Make french toast batter. Combine all the ingredients.
2. Soak the bread slices in the batter.
3. Cook them with butter in a pan, both sides, for a few minutes each side.
