Green Tea Soba Noodle Cold Soup with Seafood Tempura

Soba noodle is great served in hot soup or cold soup, but this season (it reached 102F in Minnesota yesterday!) cold soba noodle soup is one of my favorite meals. It’s light, refreshing, and satisfying at the same time. This beautiful green tea soba noodle was found at Mitsuwa, a Japanese grocery store, in Chicago. The green tea flavor is subtle but it’s there.

シーフード天ぷらのせ冷たい茶蕎麦
昼食 ２０１１年６月４日
先日シカゴの日本食料品店で見つけたのが、この茶蕎麦。
きれいな緑色に茹で上がった。
暑くなってきたので、冷たいつゆでいただく。
（ミネソタは昨日３７度まで上がった。。。）
シーフード天ぷらはちょっと失敗（衣がはがれた。。。）だったけれど、蕎麦に天ぷら（天かす？（笑））ってやっぱり美味しい。

Wow, that’s hot! It’s about the same here, but we’re used to it and we have air conditioners that are strong enough.
Cold soba noodles sound good – which soup base did you use? I typically use 追いがつおつゆ when I make hot soup with soba noodles. Of course I’m lazy and get the base pre-made – I just have to add water to it. You probably make yours from scratch!

We had two extremely hot days like this in the beginning of the week. It was so unusual here in MN! I stayed inside the air-conditioned house most of the day other than going to work.
I don’t use pre-made soup, just because it’s so expensive! Many of those pre-made soup are very good and lots of Japanese people use it, too.

よよさん、
そうです、かきあげ風になりました。
そうなんですよ、今週はとっても変で、月曜日火曜日に３７度まで上がったと思ったら昨日今日（水曜日木曜日）と最高気温がたったの２０度までしか上がりませんでした。
もう朝何を着ていいのか分かりませ～ん（笑）。
日本は６月はそういえば梅雨でしたね。。。
私もこの時期日本では髪の毛がぼわ～っとしていたのを思い出しました（笑）。
