I had seen this place several times but I had never eaten here before.
We were in a mood for a good deli sandwich, and when we looked for a good deli place on Yelp, this place showed up.
I was in a mood for something different, and we thought this would be a perfect place to try.
I always thought it was a Polish food place, but they actually call themselves “East European Deli”, and they have not only Polish food but also other east European countries food.
This is their Combination Platter.
One Cabbage Roll, Three Pierogi, One Sausage, and a Side of Your Choice.
We picked Ukrainian Sausage for our sausage choice, and Braised Red Cabbage for our side.
We decided to share this platter, thinking we could get more food if we were still hungry (This is a cafeteria-style restaurant).
Well, that was a good decision.
There was so much food and it was definitely enough for the two of us (especially when we were planning to have dessert after dinner!).
One of the things I was excited about was the cabbage roll.
It was huge and it was served with three different sauces.
It was good, but at the same time it made me miss my mom’s cabbage rolls…
Everything was homemade and very tasty.
But braised red cabbage was probably my favorite.
After our dinner we checked out their adjacent deli.
Apparently sausage is their specialty.
But this is what we were after.
Everything looked good, but I wanted to try something different, something unique.
So I picked this walnut torte.
This was DELICIOUS!!
The cake was wonderfully nutty and tasty without anything.
But then served with this amazing butter cream!!
I cannot wait to go back to have this cake again, like tomorrow (lol)!
This was Terry’s pick.
Some kind of raspberry chocolate cake.
He said it was very good.
I don’t know why I waited this long to try their food.
But I’ll be back.
Soon.
Next time maybe I’ll try their sandwich…
And the walnut cake, of course!
I love a place like this that reminds me that good things stay for a very long time, unchanged…
Kramarczuck’s.
