Grapefruit and Blue Cheese Salad
Growing up I didn’t care for fruit in my salad. I liked salad and I liked fruit but I always made a face when my mom put tangerine or apple slices in my vegetable salad. Apparently I have changed. Now I love adding various fruits (and nuts or seeds) to my salad. With this salad fruit (grapefruit in this case) is actually the main ingredient and vegetables are added to enhance the overall flavors of the salad. I wasn’t planning to add blue cheese but since we found this award winning local blue cheese at a grocery store we wanted to try it. This salad was served with honey mustard dressing.

グレープフルーツとブルーチーズのサラダ
暑くなるとさっぱりサラダが美味しくなります。
昔はサラダに果物が入るのが苦手だったのに、最近はいろいろ入れるのが好き。
今回はサラダに果物、というより、果物が主役のサラダ。
グレープフルーツに、きゅうり、ラデイッシュ、赤玉、いろいろハーブ。
そして、最後にたまたま最近購入したブルーチーズ。
ハニーマスタードドレッシングでいただきました～。
チーズは最近はほとんど買わないのですが、先日ラジオで、賞を取った地元のブルーチーズと言っていたのをたまたまスーパーで見つけたのでテリーがすかさずゲット。
グレープフルーツ、昔は砂糖をかけないと食べられない酸っぱさでしたが、最近のものは甘いものが多いですね～。
