New Year’s Day

We were excited to go and have brunch at Hell’s Kitchen in Minneapolis this morning. When we called the restaurant to make sure they were open today, we were too optimistic to ask how busy they were. We got there and we were told that the wait was an hour and half… We decided not to wait as there wasn’t really anything to do to kill time and we were also pretty hungry. We walked several blocks looking for a place that would serve breakfast. We finally ended up at the Crown Plaza Hotel. Their breakfast menu was very basic and not nearly as interesting as Hell’s Kitchen’s. But the food and service were both very good.

昨夜はうちで夕食、その後ＤＶＤを観て、１２時にスパークリングワインで乾杯。
のんびりとした大晦日となった。
今朝は、ちょっと前から気になっていたレストランにブランチに行こう、と夫と盛り上がり。
喜び勇んで行ってみたら、１時間半待ち、とのことで断念。。。
二人ともものすごくガッカリ。
ダウンタウンまでわざわざ出かけて行ったので、近くで朝食を食べられるところを見つけよう、と歩き回ったものの、開いている店は少なく、開いている店は満員。。。
１０分ほど歩いてやっと見つけたのが、あるホテル内のレストラン。
何っていうことのないフツーのメニューだったけれど、美味しかったし、サービスも良かったので、ヨシ、ということで（写真上）。
本当に行きたかったのは、こちら（下写真）。
その名も、Ｈｅｌｌ’ｓ Ｋｉｔｃｈｅｎ （地獄のキッチン）！
元旦から、“地獄のキッチン”、っていうのも縁起が悪そうなので（笑）、ここはまあ次回、ということで。
実は家に帰ってから、今日のブログにアップしよう、と、あるものを作ったんだけれど。。。
見事、惨敗。。。
元旦からついてないわ～。
ということで、下写真に写っているのは、アイリッシュクリーム入りコーヒー。
