Rice Bowl with Fried Tofu and Kimchi Turkey Sauce

Kimchi is a Korean pickled cabbage. It’s spicy, garlicky, and very tasty. It has a distinct smell and taste, and unfortunately it’s not for everyone. I’ve noticed that many Americans, including my husband, can’t even stand the smell. Too bad… Kimchi is quite popular in Japan, and it’s used for many different dishes.

揚げ豆腐とキムチ肉どんぶり

先日、日本食料品店に買出しに行った、と書いたんだけれど、コレは実はその前に作ったもの。
驚くことに、キムチも豆腐も普通のスーパーで手に入っちゃうのだ。
豆腐はコーンスターチをつけて揚げる。
ご飯の上に揚げた豆腐とキムチ入りの甘辛く味付けした七面鳥（鶏肉に似た味）のひき肉をのせたもの。
キムチがいい味を出してくれるのよね。
コレは、私の一人ご飯。
夫のテリーはキムチはダメ。
あの匂いがやっぱり受け入れられないらしい。。。
と、書いていて、そういえば以前ちょこっと何かに混ぜ合わせて作ったものは食べてたような？
