Rustic Spiced Apple Tart
I had craving for an apple tart for a while.
A slice of this tart with a cup of coffee makes a great breakfast.
If you serve it with maple syrup or/and whipped cream, it will be a beautiful dessert!
dough
-1.5 cup all purpose flour
-a pinch of salt
-1 tablespoon sugar
-1/2 cup butter, cold, cut into small pieces
-3~4 tablespoons cold water
2~3 apples, sliced
spice mixture (cinnamon, nutmeg, all spice, ginger)
1 tablespoon butter
sugar
1 egg yolk
1 tablespoon water
1. Combine flour, salt, and sugar in a food processor. Add butter and pulse until mixture forms coarse crumbs. Add ice water, and pulse until just combined. Shape dough into a ball, wrap in plastic, and refrigerate for about one hour.
2. Preheat oven to 350 F. Roll dough to make a rough round-shaped.
3. Combine apple slices with spices. Arrange them on the dough,
4. Dot the apple slices with butter. Sprinkle some sugar.
5. Whisk egg yolk and water. Brush the egg wash over the edge.
6. Bake for about 45 minutes until crust is golden brown.

と思っていて作ったもの。
食べたいと思って作るものはやっぱし美味しい。
ガレット風にするつもりだったのですが、生地がきれいに折ることができず、それなら、ということで、フリースタイル？なタルト風に。
つまり、型を使わず、指でちょこちょこっとふちを少し高くしただけです。
スパイスをたっぷりまぶした林檎のスライスをのせたら、バターと砂糖をふりかけてオーブンで焼くだけ。
そのままでも美味しいのですが（朝食にぴったし）、メープルシロップをかけたり、生クリームをのせたり、メープルシロップと生クリームをのせて（笑）食べるのも美味しかったです。

This tart looks so tasty. I love how flaky the crust looks. It would make the perfect companion for my cup of morning tea.

Thank you, Lynn!! I enjoyed for breakfast, brunch, and snack, well basically all day long (lol). And yes, this goes very well with a cup of tea!
