Salmon Rice Balls
Rice balls are ultimate comfort food in Japan!
They are so simply made with a few ingredients, rice, salt, and roasted seaweed, but I never get tired of them.
I remember that as a young child I used to make rice balls with my mother side by side, trying to make my rice balls look like just like hers, perfect triangle-shaped!
Everyone has their own preference when it comes to the shape of the rice ball, but in our house our rice balls have always been triangle-shaped.
You can add anything you like in your rice balls, but salmon is one of my favorites!
Salmon Rice Balls (2 balls)
2 cups cooked rice
salt
water
2 tablespoons cooked salmon
2 leaves Japanese basil (shiso)
1/4 roasted seaweed sheet, cut in half
1. Add salt to rice, and combine well.
2. Wet hands with water. Form rice into balls or into your preferred shape.
3. Push salmon and basil leaf inside.
4. Wrap with seaweed.
